RECENT ADVANCES

• Developed virtual colonoscopy, a new way to look inside the body that will potentially replace highly invasive and expensive traditional colonoscopy.
• Developed and conducted clinical trials on a new combination of chemotherapy drugs, known as FOLFOX 4, which outperformed the standard treatment for advanced colorectal cancer.
• Discovered a molecule that is capable of turning the immune system on or off. Such immune system co-stimulators can potentially guide the body to attack a cancer cell.
• Developed a blood test to identify a genetic response to cancer drugs to treat childhood leukemia.
