Genetic Studies of Cardiac HypertrophyThe lab aims to study molecular mechanisms of human cardiomyopathy using zebrafish genetics. We are generating several cardiac hypertrophy models in adult zebrafish by implementing various biomechanical stresses to a zebrafish heart. These fish models are being exploited to dissect anti-hypertrophy pathways such as TOR signaling via mutagenesis screen, transgenic technology and small-molecule treatment. Our ultimate goal is to perform modifier screens to identify novel therapeutic strategies for human cardiomyopathy. |
