OVERVIEW

Our research group studies acute brain ischemia. We maintain a prospective registry of all patients who present to the Emergency Department (ED) with signs of acute brain ischemia (stroke/TIA). Our work focuses on outcomes research with a special interest in prediction models, biochemical markers, and acute interventions. In addition to our research we facilitate and expedite acute stroke care at the scene, and deliver real time patient education, with a 24 hour hotline for our patients. We follow all our patients prospectively long term and are committed to optimizing their care as we study the disease.
