Summary

Dr. King's research interests center around the Genito-urinary system. Renal MRI is a major focus of Dr. King's research and currently deals with fast MR imaging of the kidneys as well as MR derived renal blood flow measurements. These research applications are currently being applied to Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Disease and other causes of chronic renal failure.

Renal artery MR angiography has also been a major focus of Dr. King's research interests. Together with Dr Steve Reiderer, in Mayo's MR research lab, Dr. King has helped develop and test high resolution MRA of the renal arteries.

Prostate MRI, including endorectal prostate MR, has also been a major research focus. Research efforts have primarily been directed towards pre-operative planning prior to radical prostatectomy, although other research efforts have been directed at radiation planning and MRI.

Another aspect of research includes Vasculogenic Impotence. Non-invasive evaluation with Doppler sonography in patients with impotence has been a focus of research for over 10 years.

Finally, intravascular contrast media reactions has been a focus of ongoing research as well.
