RCF FILE SERVICES

The RCF gives Mayo research personnel storage space on, and access to, networked file servers. These servers are backed up nightly to a series of digital tapes. Should research data be lost or corrupted, it can often be restored from these backup tapes.

RCF file services include:

• giving Mayo researchers cross-platform access to network resources;
• creating and administering shared departmental directories;
• creating and administering home directories for researchers; and
• administering server-based applications.
