The laboratory studies the molecular events that govern the replication of HIV and related lentiviruses. There is a strong interest in interactions of viral molecules with host cell proteins, with focus on the viral integrase protein. Replication-defective lentiviral vectors are worked with in these basic scientific experiments and to determine their therapeutic potential.
