Regulation of Blood Pressure and Vascular RemodelingHigh blood pressure afflicts 10-20% of the population and is responsible for premature stoke and heart failure. Understanding how vascular tone is regulated is central to understanding hypertension. The role of novel immediate early genes in blood pressure control and the response to injury are active areas of investigation. The laboratory uses knock-out and transgenic animals in the pursuit of this research. |
