Basic research facilties

The Samuel C. Johnson Medical Research Building was named in honor of Mr. Samuel C. Johnson, the longest-serving member of the Board of Directors of the Mayo Foundation. Dedicated on November 9, 1993, it offers 75,000 total square feet on four floors, three above ground and one below. The facility currently houses nine research laboratories and ten core facilities. When staffing is complete, the building will house 10-12 independent research programs, supported by more than 100 staff, including postdoctoral fellows and graduate students from around the world.
