Healthy Action to Benefit Independence and Thinking (HABIT)

HABIT is a 10-day, intensive outpatient program for individuals who have recently received a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment. Recent research suggests that people with early cognitive impairment can benefit by developing new ‘habits’ that may compensate for certain memory deficits over a period of time. Incorporating these new habits can play a role in optimizing independence, improving overall health, and maintaining normal daily activities. In HABIT, a typical day lasts 5 hours and can include: cognitive training/rehabilitation, education, wellness and resource information, mind-body program, and emotional support group. Interested individuals will be screened to confirm eligibility and a program partner is required.
