FUSION SUMMARY

Interested clients will supply the Mayo Antibody Core Facility with antigen(s) either lyophilized or solubilized in PBS. Antigens may be native protein, peptides conjugated to KLH or whole cells, but not infectious agents. Balb/cbyj mice will be immunized with your antigen and boosted as necessary. Preimmune sera will be supplied in addition to individual immune antisera. 

Splenocytes and/or lymph node cells are removed and fused to a immunoglobulin nonsecreting myeloma partner cell line, F/O. Hybridomas are screened and positive hybrids are cloned, then subcloned to obtain a stabile monoclonal antibody producing cell line.  Hybridomas will be isotyped and cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen. Monoclonal Antibodies of choice can be expanded in vitro to obtain concentrated culture supernatant for purposes of purification.
